It does not even matter whether you want to connect it to a computer, laptop, media player or smart TV: The wide spread universal USB port allows you to connect to almost any device. And all that is done via a fast USB 3.0 port with transfer rates of up to 5Gbit/s but of course still downward compatible. The power is supplied via USB itself. The adapter's blue illumination gives important information regarding the status - when the LED shines, the HDD is ready, when the HDD blinks, there is data activity.
